This site was created by high schooler Joseph Zhang in hopes of discovering new, inspiring stories about businesses and entrepreneurs to share with everyone. Businesses With Stories is an independent online publication that comes out with new stories about businesses bi-weekly.

Businesses with Stories is a unique, student-run publication that seeks to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and to offer opportunities to talk to CEOs and founders of companies ranging from nascent startups to established Fortune 500 businesses.

Joseph Zhang – Founder and Editor-in-Chief

Joseph Zhang founded this site the summer before his sophomore year in high school. Interested in business since he was young, he had already been through every Inc. and Forbes magazine article in the house before he turned towards the CEOs and founders themselves to learn more.

When he’s not transcribing, writing, or working on putting together the publication schedule for the site, he’s doing debate, helping students prepare for the high school DECA business program competition, or creating slideshows for the investment program at his school.

Oscar Hong – VP and Full Time Contributor

Oscar is a junior at Algonquin Regional High School and joined the team in late 2018. When he was introduced to the business world at the beginning of 9th grade, he knew that he wanted to learn more. Now, he is always finding time to expand his horizons whether it comes from readings like the Bloomberg Magazine and Wall Street Journal Articles, or interviewing companies and entrepreneurs for BWS. When Oscar’s not working on Businesses With Stories, you can catch him learning about his favorite business topic: investing.

Will Hurley – Section Editor and Full-time Contributor

Will Hurley is a senior at Algonquin Regional High School in Massachusetts. Joining the BWS team in 2018, Will loves to build relationships with CEOs and learn how business founders led their company to the top.

When Will isn’t writing articles for Businesses With Stories, he’s leading his high school’s Investment Club, volunteering for Special Olympics, or fishing at the local reservoir.

Brianna Tang – Full Time Contributor

Brianna is a junior at Algonquin Regional High School and started writing for BWS in early 2020. At school, she is a part of the cross country team and an editor for the newspaper.
